The three-time NBA Finals MVP purchased this ridiculously huge 31,000-square-foot mansion back in 1993, and it’s now on the market for an ambitious $22 million. After 25 years, O’Neal left the Windermere, Florida residence behind for some new digs outside Atlanta — he likely wanted to be closer to TNT’s studios where he works as an analyst on “Inside the NBA.” This sprawling Florida residence sits on Lake Butler and was customized to all of O’Neal’s exact specifications. O’Neal’s long-time Orlando area home is a private three-acre estate with 700 feet of lakefront access. The sprawling estate features a magnificent circular driveway and porte-cochère out front.
The huge main foyer sets the tone for how well-designed the rest of the home is. Elegant double princess staircases, pillars and walls feature trim made of rich mahogany wood. Off to the side sits the dining room with seating for twelve.
O’Neal’s pad features multiple entertaining areas. The home includes multiple living rooms, a two-story great room, a ten-seat home theater and a walk-in humidor with wine storage.
The master bedroom features a wall-sized mirror on one side and large windows that present a serene, panoramic view of the calm Lake Butler.
The outdoor entertainment area was nicknamed “Shaq-apulco.” The area features a pool with a stone waterfall, outdoor grill and a cabana, all enclosed within a 10-foot-tall privacy fence that wraps around the residence. Walk a bit further and you’ll hit the dock and the property’s 700 feet of lakefront access.
O'Neal's former Florida mansion certainly houses everything you’d ever want in a house. He’s included a 6,000-square-foot basketball gym, a 17-car garage, three fireplaces, a game room, as well as a recording studio. The asking price was lowered to $22 million from its original listing price of $28 million. While it's uncertain how quickly the home will sell, one thing’s for certain — whoever moves into this massive house won’t want to live anywhere else.
