It’s almost time to pack up for summer vacation. What will you take? It depends on where you’re going, of course, but some items are definitely indispensable for summer travel.
Swipe through to learn what you must pack before you head off for vacation this summer.
Keep the sun from reddening up your face (or your bald spot) by wearing a hat. Bring a couple so you’re always stylin’, because a hat is a must-have for summer travel.
Sunscreen, too, is an essential summer travel item. Protect any exposed skin by using a 30-spf sunscreen. Sunscreen can be pricey in resort towns, so you’ll be budget-smart to pick some up at your local store rather than waiting until you get to your destination.
We all know by now that single-use water bottles are bad for the environment, so grab your favorite bottle from home and take it with you. You’ll find plenty of places to refill as you travel around.
Protect your eyes and look fly with a pair or two of sunglasses. Not only will your eyes be protected from harsh glare, but they’ll also be safe from sand, flying debris, and drying wind.
After spending time baking in the sun, your skin will appreciate an application of lotion or moisturizer, so be sure to pack this hydrating item. If you’re flying, be sure to pack containers with 3.4 ounces or less of product.
If your summer travel includes camping, hiking or a trip to the beach, a first aid kit might be a good idea—especially if kids are along. Cuts, bites and other minor injuries are common during summer vacations, so be prepared!
Even if it’s hot outside, you’ll probably want to pack a light cover-up or sweater, or a long-sleeved layering shirt for the guys. When it's hot outside, indoor places are often so over-air-conditioned you might need a little something to protect against the chill. You can also wear it on the beach to protect from sunburn.
